Soundproofing was paramount on this site. In the floors we layed 18mm engineered flooring on top of insulated 75mm x 225mm joists. Under the joist were two layers of plasterboard, 1 sound, 1 fire rated and then a dropped ceiling with another fire board. On top of the engineered floor we layed a 5mm acoustic board, 19mm gyproc plank (which was sealed around the room with acoustic mastic) a 30mm acoustic flooring board, 5mm acoustic underlay and 7mm laminate flooring. We passed the sound test with flying colours.
