I spent most of this year working on seven new apartments in Walthamstow, east London. I started in January when the job was just a hole in the ground. It was an all rounder carpentry job varying from shuttering, roofing, 1st fix, 2nd fix, kitchens and built ins. I documented it well and left links to this blog in the walls and floors in the form of business cards. I love finding links to the past when we rip out an old house so i guess this is the modern version. Hopefully, in a hundred or so years time, somebody will find my cards and take the time to view my blog. (if it still exists)
I'll start with the roof because eveything up to this was joisting. There was a nice tin hat over us when working on this flat roof, we fitted firring
pieces onto the joists, ply'd everything, fixed osb with 130mm
insulation onto the ply and finished everything with tilting fillet. It
was then asphalted throughout.
Here we cut into the blocks to fit the joist hangers. It worked a treat.
